Must know #hawaiitips about Kualoa Ranch
Kualoa Ranch is a 4000-acre privately owned working cattle ranch; however, it is best known as a popular tourist destination and a filming location. It is located approximately 1-hour drive from Ko Olina, on the East coast of O’ahu
Here are a few tips that I like to inform all our guests interested in touring the ranch:
1.Don’t miss the hall of fame featuring all the celebrities and movies that were filmed on site. More than 50 films and TV shows were filmed at Kualoa over the years, such as Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, 50 First Dates, Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Jumanji, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Lost, among many many others.
2.Plan a full day at the ranch. There is so much to see and do, and time will fly after you get there. Do some research ahead and know what you are planning to do; you will save time this way. They have ATV Tours, Ziplining, Jungle rides, Movie sets tours, horseback ridings, and an area set with ranch animals to play and feed.
3.The Movie Site Tour was my favorite, by far. You will be boarded into a vintage school bus, perfect for selfies, by the way, and if you are lucky you might even see a filming in progress. You will also see movie props and lots of memorabilia from all the movies filmed through the years.
4.Don’t miss the Kualoa WWII artifacts and exhibitions. Do you know that 1000-acrea of Kualoa Ranch was transformed into Kualoa Airfield during World War II?
5.Also, don’t miss Tropical Macadamia Nut Farm! An amazing hidden gem, located right outside Kualoa Ranch. I highly recommend incorporating this site stop into your itinerary. There will be a blog about Tropical Farms soon.
